Congratulations Jaret and Twyla!

Beautiful ring!
Posted by Hello

Happy news! My brother and his fabulous girlfriend got engaged tonight! :) I’m so happy, because I think she is wonderful and she makes my brother so happy. Because I love my brother, I couldn’t ask for anything more!

Welcome Aunt Robin!

My awesome Aunt Robin has a blog! How cool is that! (I told you my family would take over the world.)

Not much is new, D got in last night. Now I’m home, showering, and then time to do some running around with my Smoochy. Ha. I’m not sickening at all huh?

I asked D to come to my two little cousins grad this year, and he said yes. So there ya go Aunt Robin, he’ll be meeting the fam. Scary huh!

I was interviewed by Sass, however I’m not done answering my questions. Maybe I’ll have a chance to post my answers when in Quebec. Because today? Way too busy to even be updating. What am I doing? I need to go get ready for my day.

I leave 6 AM tomorrow morning. Technically earlier, since I should be at the airport by 4:30 AM or so. How fun.

Maybe I’ll update when gone. Who knows? We’re advised to fully immerse ourselves in French culture, so maybe that means I won’t. Or maybe I’ll update in French! Wouldn’t you all just love that?

Margaritas tonight.

Halifax, 2004.
Posted by Hello

I took the above picture in Halifax last April. I really like it, I just sort of wish it had been a gray and cloudy day. Would’ve added to the creepy factor I think.

I’m meeting Roseanne and Julie for margaritas at Moxie’s at 7:30 PM. I have zero energy. You’d think I’d have tons, not having done a thing these last couple of weeks. But no, I’m zapped. I feel all achy and in pain. Hopefully I’m not getting sick.

Want to know how I’m the biggest klutz to walk the face of this planet? I walked into a door. But no, the door wasn’t closed. I walked into the side of a door, you know the side that’s oh, say, two inches wide? Because I am brilliant.

The damage deposit from my apartment in Regina arrived today, whoohoo another $350 for Quebec! :) I’m happy. I think I’m going to do a bit of shopping before I leave though. There’s a few little things I need, like a conjugation book!

Do I update too much? If so, whatever. Who knows if I will at all when in Quebec. Plus, there is nothing to do. Nothing at all. I’m so torn between being anxious for Friday to get here because D will be back, but at the same time wanting this week to go by slow since it’s my last week before I’m gone for five. I don’t feel ready for this. But how, exactly, can I be?

Heartwrenching books.

Easy reading.
Posted by Hello

I found a book by Lurlene McDaniel out at Dad’s. Her books were the books to read when I was around 12 and 13, so of course I had to read it for old times sake. I have to admit, I cried more than once. Then again, I can be the biggest sap ever.

So today, while out grocery shopping with Mom, I ran into another person I haven’t seen since I was 17. This time it was Ian, the “hot cop” I had the hugest crush on. What’s more, he recognized me! I’m so flattered. :) So yeah, that was interesting.

Tonight I think I’ll slowly start preparing for my trip (meaning clean up the mess that is my room and tentatively start packing). Mom’s making me mow the lawn too. Whoohoo. Then later, Roseanne and Julie are coming over and we’re watching Spanglish.

I’m in love with updating lately, especially because I can post pics. If you all really loved me, you’d buy me a pro account at Flickr. It’s only May 9th and I’ve already used all my uploading capacity for the month, and I’m too poor to buy a pro account. Sucks to be me.

Can you believe I leave in a week?

Around the farm.
Posted by Hello

I’m back in Saskatoon. Roseanne and I left Carrot River at about 3:00 PM. Julie went back with her parents earlier because they were going to go see the production of Grease playing here. Except guess what? Julie neglected to give Roseanne the keys to the locking gas cap. That was fun. Dad managed to break it off with a crowbar and we were on our way.

Tonight Rosey and I went to Homestead for ice cream then rented Closer. Interesting story line, but a messed up movie.

Mom really needs to print off the pictures from our trip to Halifax last April. I desperately need that memory card for my camera. There was so much interesting stuff to take pictures of out at Dad’s farm but unfortunately, my camera without a memory card only fits like 20 photos or so. Oh well, it’s not like I’ll never be in Carrot River again.

D called from Cigar Lake today! :) It was nice hearing from him. He gave me the number of his lab so I can call whenever I want. Ha. I’m sure his employers would love that.

I promised Mom I’d sweep the floors tonight. Then I must go to bed, I think I’m tired seeing how I typed “sleep” instead of “sweep” and had to change it.

Fun times with goofy friends!

Fun times!
Posted by Hello

I had so much fun tonight! Roseanne, Julie, and I went and bought crazy sunglasses (as evident in the above picture). We then went to Alexander’s and had milkshakes and dessert. I know you’re all dying to see some more goofy, goofy pictures so just follow the link.

Adorable Madison.

Oh, the baby.
Posted by Hello

Madison was being a little camera shy on Monday, so I didn’t get as many cute shots as I had hoped. She loves makeup, and so I put some blue eyeshadow and red lipstick on her. It was hilarious. Nothing like pimping out a two year old! :) I wish I had taken a picture, and I wish I had my camera with me yesterday at her place. She was wearing a cute flowery dress with a blue straw cowboy hat. I’ll have to remember to always carry my camera so I never miss shots like that again.

Yesterday D came in from PA and took me out for supper at The Keg. Then we took a walk by the river, and saw a beaver! It was all very romantic, and sweet. I’m so happy. I’ve got it bad. :)

This morning Mom and I went out for coffee with my Aunt Diane and my two cousins Monika and Yvonne. It was fun, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen either of them. They’re both pregnant! Yvonne is due June 10th and Monika is due September 28th! More babies! I love babies! I really, really do. I want a baby. Not for a good 5 years though. I have no problem admitting I’m too selfish and self-centred right now to possibly take care of a child. Ha. Luckily I have Madison to get my baby fix from, and soon both Yvonne and Monika’s babies.

I think I want an afternoon nap. I didn’t get to sleep until about 1:30 AM and then I was up at 8:30 AM. I’m not even that tired, but I sure do love sleep.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

I finally have a digital camera!

Trying it out.
Posted by Hello

I bought a digital camera yesterday, I’m very excited. It’s about time I hopped on the bandwagon that is digital huh? My camera isn’t anything super high tech, it’s a Kodak CX7330, but it gets the job done. Expect lots of pictures to be posted now, how fun! :)

I’m feeling rather lethargic today. It was a busy weekend. I ended up going to The Hose with D, his friends, plus Roseanne and Julie on Saturday night. Didn’t get back to his place until 3 AM. D worked Sunday for a couple of hours, afterwards he took me out for lunch at Moxie’s. Then last night Mom had a BBQ. Jaret, Twyla, Chris all came over as well as… D! Yup, meeting the fam already. I think it’s fair to say all is going well. :) He has training for his new job in PA until Thursday, but he’s coming back tomorrow night and is taking me out for supper. I’m so spoiled, lucky me!

Today Tanya and Amy are coming over and bringing Madison. Not sure if Kirk and Colin are coming, maybe Kirk but I bet Colin is working. Madison is what matters anyway! I love her so much. I plan on taking many pictures with my new camera, I’ll have to post a couple. I’m also going to take a mini video of her and email it to Nicole in Spain. Then tonight, margaritas at Earl’s with Jenna. It’ll be fun, I haven’t seen her since I moved back.

Yesterday marked exactly two weeks until I go to Quebec. Scary. Really, I’m scared! I know it’ll be a blast, but it’s the whole idea of speaking French at all times that freaks me out. My French vocabulary is very limited. Hence the reason I’m going I suppose. It’ll be fine. Right?

I’m still unpacking. It’s going way slower than expected. My room is a horrible mess, and I don’t feel settled at all. Hopefully soon.

Expect my updates to be like this for awhile, a regurgitation of my life. I feel like I don’t have the time or energy to write about specific topics. Perhaps, with having said that, I will.
