My little quirk.
I’m wasting time before I go have an important academic conversation.
The other day, Mom informed me she bought rice crackers, one of my favourite snacks. Excited, I tore open the package and chomped on a few. After a few seconds…
Me: “Rice crackers taste like loneliness.”
Mom: “Rice crackers taste like loneliness?”
They do. The first time I ever had rice crackers was after D and I broke up last fall. I loved them, and pretty much ate a package a day. I was spending alot of time at school, and nursing my poor wittle heart over the torment of being dumped. Then it was finals, and I was spending even more time at school, all by my lonesome self, still snacking away on rice crackers.
Since then I haven’t eaten rice crackers for awhile, until Mom brought some home. So the taste reminded me of spending time at school, and feeling all alone in the world.
Thus, rice crackers taste like loneliness.
Also, the perfume I bought for my 22nd birthday?
It smells like heartbreak.
Am I the only person who does this? Attaches emotions to completely unrelated objects/smells/tastes?
I know that many people attach emotions to, say, music, but c’mon… rice crackers taste like loneliness and perfume smells like heartbreak?
I’m one strange cookie.

Certain smells/tastes of food remind me of people sometimes. Yeah, like I could be drinking apple juice & i think of my great grandma. You’re not weird. I do it too.

I do that all the time! For example, the third floor of my school smells like summer because I remember working on this math project there for a long time last June o_o

mmm I love rice crackers. But I agree with Jenna, chocolate is a complete reminder of heartbreak for me. Not just my own, but when friends are suffering from heartbreak we’d always sit around and eat large amounts of the stuff.
And yes, you can totally link me.

I wouldn’t say you’re a strange cookie.
It would be much more appropriate to say you’re one strange rice cookie, wouldn’t it?
No? No? Hello?
Mic check…
Tough crowd…

Oh yea, and I dunno if you get this too, but the smell of rotten apples & dehy trucks reminds me of riding the bus to school when we were younger. That smell makes me feel sick, but also makes me happy thinking about the bus rides. haha.

Haha, I totally know what you mean, Lacy! Really, any smell of garbage and leftover lunches makes me think of the bus. Especially the smell of the rubber seats.
Jenna, rice crackers are loneliness, perfume is heartbreak!
And Paris is in France. You dork! I should write about THAT.

Hopefully I’ll be around more now-a-days work has settled down for a bit (not working every waking hour anymore). It will be nice to get caught up on everybodies lives/blogs. Who knows, maybe I’ll even post a blog
