This and that.

I figured out why it has felt like I have a big bruise under my left eye for the past few days. Seems I have a sty in my eye. Though it’s very small, and not red or anything like that, I still can’t help but feel like Dom Woganowski off of There’s Something About Mary. How attractive.

Twice today Mom has woken me up from my nap. First, to unload the lawnmower from Jaret’s truck (he had borrowed it), and then to pick her up at Shopper’s Drug Mart. I need to get out of the habit of taking a nap after class is done. See, I get up around 6:30 AM every day. Then I come home and take a nap. Because I take a nap, I stay up late. So I am tired when I wake up at 6 AM again, and need a nap to survive the day. Vicious cycle.

I work tonight, alone as has become the usual. Which means I’ll be bored out of my mind. I think it’s a good idea if I try for the third time to take a nap. Then get to work and have a strong coffee. Maybe that’ll be enough to keep me from hanging myself from the rafters! I wish I could find a new job, but truth is when I do work with other people, I love my job. Also, I need so much time off this summer. I know I can get it off at my current job, but can’t imagine it being okay to take loads of time off from a new job.

Pointless babble.

Yet another reason…

I have the bestest best friend in the entire world:

This weekend is Twyla’s bridal shower and stagette. Unfortunately for her, lots of people can’t make it, like her stepsister and a bunch of coworkers. I guess she asked Nicole if Rosey would be able to make it, and so I called Rosey to see if she could.

And, despite the fact Rosey was here only two weeks ago and despite the fact she has to borrow money from her brother in order to get here, she is coming.

Megan, if you’re reading this, call me. Of course you are invited too. Except I lost your Invermay #, and no answer on your cell. I’ll send you an email. Hopefully you can come, I know Twyla would really appreciate it! It’ll be a good time, I promise!

Fun times.

Things that are not cool:

-Going to bed at midnight and waking up at 4:30 AM.
-The tummy ache that accompanies very little sleep.
-Biking to school on a seat with a split, so it felt like I was sitting on a wet sponge the entire way.
-Being covered head to toe in mud by the time I arrived at university.
-Writing a midterm I didn’t feel prepared for.

Things that are cool:

-Coffee. Coffee is heaven sent, people.
-Feeling like a smarty pants, for I am fairly positive I aced my midterm.
-Home at 10:30 AM with nothing to do except nap!

Hmmm, the not cool is winning by two. Which is not cool. And I am obviously tired and not coherent and should go to bed.

Okay.

Going to bed.

Hee. Too funny.

MSN conversation with Chelene… and it hit me all of sudden.

“ohmigod i totally think anderson cooper is sexy”

So we both googled images, and came up with this one.

As if that’s not the scariest thing you have ever seen in your entire life.

Besides Miss. Scary Lips, am I the only one who finds the silver haired fox sexy? For real.

(Yes, goofy mood!)

ABC’s.

I vaguely remember doing this before, but whatever. Stolen from Jason.

I wish I could offer up a good excuse to explain my lack of updating. I guess all I can say is everyone goes through spurts of blogging accompanied by periods of downtime. I can’t even say I have nothing to write about, since it has been busy in the world of Brea. I don’t particularly feel like regurgitating my life, so I need some inspiration. If anyone has suggestions as to what would make a killer entry or what they are absolutely dying to know about me, leave a comment and perhaps I will accomodate you.

Here’s to hoping my blogging funk ends soon!

Friday’s Feast #95

Appetizer
How old were you when you got your first credit card?

Twenty-two, I got my first one not even a year ago!

Soup
When was the last time you felt out of place?

Mother’s Day family supper. I always end up feeling out of place at family suppers lately, because my sister has a boyfriend and my brother is engaged, leaving me feeling very, very single. Out of place in that way, center of attention in the way that I am bugged constantly about who I am currently dating/interested in, etc.

Salad
Did you have a curfew when you were a teenager? If so, what time did you have to be home?

2 AM was my curfew, pretty good I think.

Main Course
Name a person from history with whom you feel you have something in common.

Emily Brontë, because we have the same birthday. Also, I would love to publish a book one day! (Yes, I had no idea who to put, so thank you to Wikipedia!)

Dessert
When you read a newspaper, which section do you go for first?

Lifestyle section definitely.

I Am Aglow

Okay, I know that posting song lyrics does not make this a real post, but in terms of how I have been feeling lately… well, I couldn’t have said it better myself!

Read on…

I am aglow with thoughts of you
Are the stories that you told me true?
It doesn’t matter if they are
They are to me, I am aglow.

Some might say these thoughts are wrong
That you might see yourself in this song
Well, I hope that you don’t mind if you do
Cause I am aglow with thoughts of you.

Does it matter that what I remember might be
Just my own imagination painting scenes more pretty?
Well, is it obvious? Does it show?
With thoughts of you I am aglow.

I am aglow with thoughts of you
Are the stories that you told me true?
It doesn’t matter if they are
They are to me, I am aglow.

Some might say I’m thinking in sin
So I’ll just sit back and take you in
You’re a map of a place maybe someday I’ll go
With thoughts of you I am aglow.

Does it matter that what I remember is not true?
Does it matter that all I can think of is you?
Does it matter that what I remember might be
Just my own imagination painting scenes more pretty?
Well, is it obvious? Does it show?
With thoughts of you I am aglow.

(Sarah Harmer “I Am Aglow”)

Yeah… most of you know what I’m talking about.

May 22, 2006

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

I hate relationship guys.

I don’t want someone who just wants to be in a relationship. I want someone who wants to be in a relationship with me.

Friday’s Feast #94

Appetizer
What is the last thing you had to have repaired?

I guess it would’ve been my teeth, I had a small cavity filled in April.

Soup
If someone gave you $2,000 with the stipulation that you had to spend half of it on yourself and give the rest to charity, where would you spend the $1,000 and which charity would receive your remaining $1,000?

I would spent my half at any clothing store, the other half would go to either the SPCA or Saskatoon Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Salad
What is one of your favorite songs from the 1980s?

Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler.

Main Course
You enter a pet store. Which section do you go to first?

To where the cute, cuddly pets are!

Dessert
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how athletic are you?

Probably around a 4. I like playing sports for fun, not for competition.

Work till 9 tonight: boo. Roseanne will be here when I am done work: yay!

Scratch that!

Tomorrow afternoon won’t be spent in the sun… I’ve been called into work early.

Which is okay, since I need the hours, and I don’t work Thursday and not until 5:15 PM Friday, so that leaves me alot of time to enjoy this weather. If it sticks, like I hope it does!
