Not a big fan of this week.

I walked into my office and immediately spied the wrapped half of a chocolate bar I left here yesterday. That, combined with remembering to change the batteries in my mp3 player, made me think that maybe today would be better.

Plug in my mp3 player, try to turn it on… nothing. I put the wrong battery in. Instead of one of my fully charged batteries I put an old dead one in. I guess I’ll be listening to some crappy live365 station, where their idea of “indie” music is Karma Chameleon by Culture Club. You could say I was a bit shocked when that came up on my chosen station yesterday.

Thank goodness for that chocolate bar, or today could have potentially surpassed yesterday in being a crappy day.

On a happier note, happy 23rd birthday to my crazy friend Roseanne! Wish I was in Regina celebrating with you!

Back to work.

I’m sad the weekend is over, The BF’s family is great, they loved the muffins I baked for them, I had a ton of fun and did not want to come home yesterday.

Back to work today and things are already not going my way, and although it is not technically Monday because of the long weekend, it is the first day of work for the week so all the horribleness of a Monday is attached to today:

  • an “easy” Sudoku puzzle is killing me, maybe I’m just tired?
  • the batteries in my mp3 player are dead, Pandora is no more, and it is only 10 AM, I want my music back!
  • it’s gross outside, still.

What a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

Grouchy.

My amazing life!

Though I knew I was guaranteed my internship in Saskatoon and area (one hour drive of Saskatoon), I have still been sitting on pins and needles, excited to find out what school and grade.

My internship placement letter finally arrived this morning… and I’m in the same school my Brownie unit met in this past year! It is insanely close to my neighbourhood, so close I will be able to walk or bike. So convenient!

The letter said I was placed in the K-3 Level, so I then googled my cooperating teacher’s name and it looks like I’ll be interning in a kindergarten classroom! Megan I’ll be hitting you up for ideas!

The past year has been an amazing year. First I was accepted into Education after my first time applying, I ran for and won a position on general council, I cochaired an amazingly successful fundraiser for inner city schools, I ran for and won a position on executive council, I got my dream summer job for the College of Education, now this, my internship in a school super close to my home and in a grade I love!

Thank you, God! (Yes, I take this as proof there has to be a big man up in the sky!)

Highly entertaining.

Overheard on campus:

Two girls run by me, I’m assuming late for class. As they rush by, one girl exclaims to the other girl “Stupid Facebook!”

I know that feeling all too well!

A strange reaction to caffeine.

I haven’t been sleeping well lately, waking up two to three times a night. I have resisted the urge to drink coffee in the morning to combat my sleepiness because I figure I need to become as healthy as possible before I start my internship in the fall, or else I’ll be run ragged at the end of each day.

Anyway, today I gave in and got a large double-double from Tim Horton’s. Big mistake. I feel more sluggish and sleepy than I did before drinking coffee! I’ve felt this way after drinking coffee before, and just don’t get it… caffeine is supposed to make you feel awake and alert, not make you feel like this!

Is this further proof I am one strange cookie?

Office dweller.

I’ve officially become an office dweller with stacks of papers and a mess only I can understand. It actually makes a lot of sense to me. The pink post it note on the printer is where I write songs I like when they come up on Pandora, beneath that are the binders I am constantly flipping through for info. Under the keyboard are the sheets of paper I write important stuff on, and then to the right of that is my always present Chapstick, bottle of water, and handy post-it notes. So there, it looks like a mess but makes complete sense.

My other office desk. The stacks of paper consist of mail I have no idea what to do with, office manuals, and binders with more important information inside.

I quite enjoy my job!

Future ebay addict?

I just bought my first ever item on ebay: my favorite perfume “Amor Amor” by Cacharel!

I bought it for US $31.00, which with shipping and handling comes to $40.99 US. Even with the difference between US-CAN currency and paying duty, I still should save around $40, since if I bought the perfume here I would be paying $95 plus taxes!

I’m quite excited. As if I needed another place to shop, though.

I am just too excited!

The dream job I thought I had lost?

My fears were unfounded… the dream job is mine!

I start Monday, I can’t wait!

Confession.

I do stupid things the morning of an interview like sleep in, drink too much coffee, and waste time searching the Net for “what color to wear on an interview.”

One hour and it is interview time…
