Bad day today.

I’m having an “off” day. Not just regarding my internship, though today was definitely not one of my better teaching days, but a day in which I feel like I’m a failure at life in general.

Not a very nice feeling at all. But to cheer me up, tomorrow is Friday, I teach two fairly easy lessons that I hopefully don’t suck as terribly as I did today at (I’m teaching the color blue and gym class using balloons.) Also to cheer me up is the fact that I’m having my significant other come visit me tomorrow for the weekend! And, no, before you ask, I’m not talking about a date. I’m talking about Roseanne, and I call her my significant other because honestly? She’s held a position of higher significance than any guy I’ve ever dated! Yay for best friends!

Surprise! Well, no, not really.

Guess who’s single?

Wedding tomorrow!

I’m finding it impossible to concentrate on work this morning for I am only here until 1 PM which is when I leave on my three hour trip to Carrot River.

One more day until the wedding! I hope it’s beautiful out, but with a nice breeze. My bridesmaid dress is satin, so if it’s hot with no breeze I’m going to absolutely die (the wedding is outdoors.) It’s raining in Saskatoon this morning, but I talked to my mom in CR and she said it wasn’t there, so hopefully the rain doesn’t follow me.

Megan gave me a “thank you for being my maid of honor and good luck on your internship” gift on Wednesday: a bag filled with supplies to use on my internship. Thanks again, Meg, now I’m even more excited to start!

I wish that the next seven hours zoom by but as soon as I arrive home I hope time slows down for the rest of the weekend.

Congratulations Nicole and Chad!

My sister and Chad are, as of tonight, an engaged couple! Though it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise, they are building a house together after all, it came out of the blue on a random Tuesday evening so nobody was really expecting it today. Nevertheless, I’m super excited for her!

So funny because last summer I was sad over the end four family weddings in a year (my cousin Tanya, my cousin Amy, my Uncle Kent, and my brother) and now I have three more to look forward to; Megan’s in less than two weeks, Chelene’s next May, and now Nicole’s (whenever she sets the date!)

(Photo from Nicole and Chad’s Caribbean cruise last January. Perfect engagement photo, don’t you think?)

Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

The BF left not too long ago. He’s off to Dorintosh, a little town past Meadow Lake, to meet his cooperating teacher and find a place to live for the fall during his internship.

Considering my busy schedule is keeping me from seeing him the next two weekends, that makes July 6th the earliest date I can see him again. That’s why I’m very happy he decided to come see me last night. We went to Shrek the Third with the free movie passes we got because the movie reel messed up resulting in missing 5-10 minutes of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End a couple of weeks ago.

I’m glad my schedule is so jam packed the next few weeks that I won’t have time to miss him. Instead, I don’t doubt that I’ll have so much fun that I’ll be more sad when the exec retreat and trip to Vancouver are over rather than glad it means I can see him again!

Growing old so young.

Most of the time I don’t feel that old. Not that I am old, mind you. I just mean, as much as it shouldn’t since I will be 24 in less than 2 months, I still am a bit surprised when people I know and are around my age get engaged/married/have children. My reaction is sort of “Really!? Wait a minute… I guess we ARE old enough.”

The reason I write this is because my “sister from another mister” (Chelene, my sister’s best friend) got engaged last week and asked me tonight to be a bridesmaid. My answer was yes of course.

That makes three weddings I was/will be a part of. Bridesmaid last summer for my brother’s wedding, maid of honour for Megan’s wedding this summer, and bridesmaid for Chel’s wedding next May.

“Old” has such a negative connotation to it. So let me make it clear, by saying I feel old I do NOT mean it as a bad thing. I am quite enjoying growing up, and life seems to be getting better and better every year. I’m sure my brother, Megan, and Chelene would agree.
